This company led by former CISCO top honcho Padmasree Warrior has raised $600 million to become the most well-funded startup in the autonomous EV space. The company plans to launch EVs using its autonomous platform as soon as 2020, which will be powered by voice-activated AI “digital companion” known as NOMI.  The company has a vision of only running autonomous Electric Vehicles and wants to make the 8 billion hours that U.S. commuters spend driving, an enjoyable carefree time.

The company says that its ‘NIO EP9’ is the “fastest electric car in the world” and can achieve a top speed of 313 km/h (194 mph).
