Major Solar Headlines

1) Renewable Energy limits in Bulgaria. The maximum working capacity of all PV and wind plants on the territory to be limited by 40%.

2) Kuwait to invest in alternative clean energy to save more crude for export. Kuwait does not generate any power from clean sources till date.

3) Paris based Solairedirect Energy to set up 5.6MW solar park in Rajasthan, India. The park will be commissioned under the  Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).

 4) Coal India to be “Solarized“. Coal India believes “India has an abundance of sunshine and the trend of depletion of fossil fuels is compelling energy planners to examine the feasibility of using renewable sources of energy like solar, wind, and so on,” as per DNA.

5) 6 GW of European solar installations to fall in 2013. Out of the 6 GW, 1.3 GW of the decline can be attributed to the anti-dumping duties by Europe on China.

6) 75% of the second phase of JNNSM Solar Mission to be built with Local Content.
