Sunlink Solar Panels Review of Prices,Manufacturers and Comparison

Sunlink Solar Panels are manufactured by a small company Jiangsu Sunlink PV Technology Co,.Ltd based out of China  with module production capacity of 200MW.Note there are many Chinese companies of this size and a major shakeout is occurring in the industry with  a number of smaller companies shutting down their production solar panel lines as prices have gone down by 40% amidst a solar module inventory glut. Some US based solar panel producers like Evergreen and Solyndra have gone out of business and many others are on the verge like Arise Technologies.SunLink PVwas  founded in 2004 and they sell  5W to 300W both monocrystalline and polycrystalline panels. They have IEC61215 Ed.2, IEC61730, UL1703 certificates.

What are Solar Panels

Solar Panels are in general Silicon made Rectangular Shaped Glass Covered Products which Produce Electricity when exposed to the Sun.These Panels produce Direct Current (DC) Electricity which has to be converted by a  Solar Inverter to Alternating Current (AC) Electricity to be used by Consumers .Note Solar  Electricity can also be supplied to the Electricity Grid if allowed by your Utility.

How much does one Solar Panel Typically Cost ?

Note Solar Panels prices differ widely depending on the technology, power, brand and quality.Thin Film Panels in general cost lower than crystalline silicon panels.Higher Power Panels have a higher price as they generate more electricity.Good Brands also have a higher price tag while cheap imported Chinese panels cost less.Solar Panel prices have decreased by almost 50% in the last 2-3 years  and now sell for around Rs 1800-2500 ($400-$550) per panel internationally and should fall to around Rs 1000 in the next 3-4 years . However for small installations ,panels can only be bought from  distributors which is more expensive and can cost you almost 50% more.Note Solar Panels form only a part of the total Solar System Cost. The total cost of installation, equipment and wiring can cost upto Rs 300,000($6500)/Kilowatt.

Sunlink Solar Panels Review

Sunlink Polycrystalline Solar Panels

Like most other solar panel manufacturers,Sunlink also sells silicon solar panels of both varieties poly and mono. The company’s solar panels are sold in the 110  to 280 Watt ranges. They have  +/-2% output power tolerance which is better than the industry standard performance of +/-3%.The other stuff liketempered front glass, and a sturdy anodized aluminum frame is normal like other solar panels.

Sunlink Monocrystalline Solar Panels

Sunlink  sells 5 types of mono silicon solar panels in the 110-280 Watt Ranges. They give a 25-year output power warranty and have ISO9001:2000 (Quality Management System) andIEC61215,Safety tested IEC61730?CE certifications.

Sunlink Solar Cells

Being a small producer,Sunlink also sells s monocrystalline solar cells and polycrystalline solar cells. They use solar equipment from industry leaders like Centrotherm AG.,Applied Materials and JRT Photovoltaics.

Sunlink Solar Panel Prices and Comparison

Like small Chinese solar panel producers Sunlink solar panels are one of the cheapest available in the market because of the simple reason that they don’t have the brandname of their bigger rivals like Canadian Solar.Their solar panels are of decent quality at a very low price. These days solar panels can be bought in large orders at $1-1.2/watt from small solar panel producers like CEEG and BYD.The larger producers of solar panels from China are also selling solar panels at low prices. The advantage of buying from them is that their is more surety about their long term survival which is essential to meet the product warranty of the solar panels.

Crystalline Silicon (c-Si) Technology Lowest Cost Producer

In Crystalline Silicon Technology,Trina Solar and Yingli Solar are the lowest cost producers of solar panels today at around $1/watt.Their very low processing cost and vertically integrated model makes their panels the cheapest and has allowed them to grow their margins to a high level. However these companies can’t be complacent as polysilicon producers like LDK and Renesola could lower the cost even further due to polysilicon integration.Yingli has already set up a 3000 ton poly plant which would make it the lowest cost producer in 2011 inching ahead of Trina Solar

Other Chinese companies like Solarfun,Jinko Solar,Canadian Solar are also rapidly decreasing costs and the spread between them and the cost leaders Trina and Yingli is constantly coming down.In a couple of years, the leadership on the c-Si Technology might change as companies compete with each other in increasing efficiency and processes. The focus of the c-Si Companies has recently changed from
