An Indian state-owned power company Neyveli Lignite Corporation is planning to install 600 MW of solar capacity in India. The continuous stress of government over clean and green environment has forced the established coal companies all over the world to shut operations or switch over to other cleaner forms of power generation. The US coal companies have been hit hard and their stocks have been reduced to pennies. It high time India too follows these green rules and make our country a better place to live in. The capital city of India New Delhi itself has high levels of air contamination, to an extent that the air has been declared unfit to breathe in. Delhi children are suffering from various respiratory diseases. I welcome the decision of Neyveli Lignite and urge government to draft stringent rules to check air pollution.
