Types of Lerri Solar Panels

Lerri Solar is a fully owned subsidiary of Longi Solar. Longi Solar is the largest producer of mono solar wafers for the industry and now plans for a large downstream play in solar modules and cells through Lerri Solar. Lerri Solar is a manufacturer of high-efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells and modules. It is a Chinese company founded in 2007 and acquired by Longi in 2015. Lerri Solar has shipped over 1GW in 2015 within China and will now ship to overseas markets in USA, Germany and Japan.

Though monocrystalline is not very commonly used in the industry today, solar trends are fast changing. While monocrystalline solar panels have higher efficiency, their prices are higherMore and more companies are looking to expand their monocrystalline silicon solar panel capacity in lieu of multicrystalline silicon panel capacity. Neo Solar is the latest company to join the bandwagon as it is looking to build a 1 GW mono silicon cell capacity. Longi believes that the solar industry will completely move to mono silicon panels in the coming years and it has shut down its existing multi silicon panel capacity.

The company’s mono solar modules are broadly divided into:

  • LR6-60
  • LR6-72

1) LR6-60 monocrystalline solar modules are double-glass modules, available in the 270-290 W range (270W, 275W, 280W, 285W and 290W). Module efficiency varies from 16.5% upto 17.74%; and  the modules are quite versatile since they are designed to withstand high speed snow and wind, salt, mist etc. They are expected to perform well even in low temperature and low light areas, in addition to being adaptable in hot and humid areas. They come with a 10-year warranty for material and processing and 25 year power warranty.

2) LR6-72 monocrystalline solar modules are available in the 320-350 W range (320W, 325W, 330W, 335W, 340W, 345W and 350W). Module efficiency varies from 16.5%to upto 18.06%; and  the modules are quite versatile since they are designed to withstand high speed snow and wind, salt, mist etc. They are expected to perform well even in low temperature and low light areas, in addition to being adaptable in hot and humid areas. They come with a 10-year warranty for material and processing and 25 year power warranty.

Thank you Sneha. This was an interesting article that answered a few questions for me. Please note, there appears to be an error in the schematic in the article; the ‘State Grid’ and the ‘Met Monitoring Station’ appear to be swapped. Once again, good article, thanks.
