Air Fryers in India

Today’s lifestyle is trending to be more and more towards a sedentary lifestyle. It involves a lot of sitting at one place either working, watching TV or playing games on your smartphones. The kids are also adapting to this kind of lifestyle, where little physical activity is involved. Thus it exposes ourselves to the more risks of early heart ailments and other diseases. Plus the eating habit is inclined more towards packaged and frozen food. Everyone is caught in this vicious cycle and hence can spare little time for home and family. We all would love to relish home made tasty fried food, but neither do we have the time nor can one make the effort to cook them. Having said that, our mouths won’t stop watering when we think of fried food but the guilt of having fried food stops us from enjoying them. Everyone is super conscious these days, even mothers are making a constant effort to make their young ones tread the path towards healthy living and avoid feeding fried food to them.

Advantages of Air Fryer

a) Less Oil, thus Healthy! – As opposed to the traditional way of plunging the food in oil, the air fryer just needs an oil brushing on the food to be fried. With less oil in your diet, there are fewer chances of heart diseases as there is little fat deposition or cholesterol. Thus chances are more that you live long and healthy :)

b) Easy to clean – The parts inside the air fryer are non stick in nature thus they are very easy to clean, once cooled. This is in contrast to the oily pans that one needs to clean after frying.

c) No recurring cost – The initial cost of purchasing the machine is a one time cost. You do not have to buy oil every time you want to fry food and no cooking gas is used. Refined oil costs Rs. 200 per liter in India. Thus you can avoid recurring gas and oil costs.

d) No Wastage – There is no need to dispose the used oil. Many people reuse the oil used for frying, which is not a very healthy habit. This can be avoided when using an air fryer.

Air Fryer – Cost, Technology & Methodology

In the midst of this mad race, is the latest invention of technology in cooking with a wide range of Air Fryers. Many companies have launched air fryers in India too and they come in the range Rs. 7K-14K. These little machines have tried their best to deliver you food, which has been claimed to be as tasty as fried with 80% less oil. They have an in-built basket, where you place the food and just brush it with little oil. Hot air is then blown over it and the food is then cooked.
