Renesola (SOL) is a China based company providing modules at cheap prices. Renesola is a vertically integrated company Solar Panelswith complete R&D and manufacturing of polysilicon, silicon wafer and solar modules. Renesola has a global presence with sales branches established in Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific regions. Renesola sells most of its Solar Panels under an OEM Contract.

Jinko Solar (JKS) is another vertically integrated China based company making Modules, Cells & Wafers. Jinko Solar is one of the lowest cost solar panel producer and was the best performing solar stock in 2012 according to me. The company has a wide customer base in more than 10 countries, including Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Israel, the United States, Japan, Australia and China. Jinko Solar uses nanotechnology-based silicon ink and processing platform in the solar panel production.

Types of Solar Modules and Available Models

Both Renesola and Jinko Solar Modules come in Monocrystalline and multicrystalline make.

The different monocrystalline solar modules from Renesola are: i) 156 black mono (250w-260w), ii) 125mono (190w-200w), iii) 156square mono (260w-270w) and iv) 156mono (250w-260w). The multicrystalline solar modules from Renesola are: VIRTUS VIRTUS II series.

Jinko Solar makes i) JKM200M-72, ii) JKM255M-60 and iii) JKM 270M-96 monocrystalline panels and i) JKM250P-60 and ii) JKM295P-72 polycrystalline panels.

Cell Type

The cell types found in Renesola are 125×125 and 156×156, whereas JKS solar panels come with both 125×125 mm and 156×156 mm for monocrystalline modules and 156×156 mm for multicrystalline modules.

For Renesola modules the wattage range is 190 W – 310 W and Jinko Solar panels come in 180W – 295W wattage range.

Both solar panel brands have frames made of Anodized Aluminum Alloy.

Weight for Renesola modules are 16 kg, 19 kg, 29 kg, whereas Jinko Solar panels have weights of 14.5 kg, 19 kg and 20 kg for monocrystalline modules and 19 kg and 27 kg for multicrystalline modules.

Load Resistance

The solar panels of both the brands come with load resistance of ~5400 pa to withstand wind and snow loads.

Power Tolerance

Renesola Modules come with a positive power tolerance of 0-+5W, whereas Jinko Solar modules have a positive power tolerance of  ~0-+3%.

Renesola Modules confirm with PV standards such as IEC 61215:2005, IEC 61730:2004, UL 1703. Jinko Solar panels are UL, CSA, CEC, TÜV, VDE, MCS and CE certified.

Renesola modules have a limited product warranty – 10 years repair, replacement or refund remedy and 25 years limited peak power warranty – limited remedy. Jinko Solar modules come with a 10 year warranty.
