Chint Astronergy Solar Panel Review – Crystalline & Thin Film PV, Warranty & Quality

Astronergy was founded in 2006 and is the solar subsidiary of the Chint Group. As a leading integrated solar manufacturer, Astronergy specializes in research, development & production of high performance monocrystalline and polycrystalline cells & modules, as well as amorphous/microcrystalline thin film PV modules. With support from its parent company Chint, Astronergy has become a global total solutions provider for photovoltaic systems.

It has one of the most complete PV product lines in mainland China. In collaboration with its parent company, the Chint Group, Astronergy provides not only top-of-the-line solar modules, but also complete BOS components including inverters, array combiner boxes, DC protection, AC protection, and transformers. This has enabled the company to become the first in the industry to provide customizable PV solutions to satisfy a variety of photovoltaic needs, all from a single source.  Astronergy’s parent company, The Chint Group is a leader in low-voltage electrical power transmission & distribution industries. Very recently, Chint-Astronergy completed a 50MW solar PV power plant in Bulgaria. The company is headquartered in China & partnered globally through its offices in USA, Germany, Spain, Australia, Korea & Japan.

Astronergy Solar Panel Review

The company’s production lines produce solar cells from high quality silicon wafers and assemble these cells into solar modules of varying dimensions.

The PV modules come in Crystalline & Thin Film series. It offers a wide range of efficient monocrystalline PV modules with output ranging from 85W-310W and polycrystalline modules have output ranging from 130W-295W in the crystalline segment.

Output warranty of 90% performance Pmpp (STC) – 10 years

Quality Management System

IV & EL tests are performed before lamination to ensure the consistency of encapsulated cells & process reliability. The EL test is repeated on each module to ensure the quality & reliability of all products prior to shipping.

Summary

There are other major solar panels manufacturers in China like BYD , Hanlong, Goldpoly, Eging, Tianwei, Sunzone etc which are setting up large gigawatt scale solar panel capacity. The existing Solar Panel Producers in China will have a tough time as the competition grows domestically as well as from other Asian like the Koreans and the Taiwanese. However currently Chinese Solar Panels are No.1 in the world in terms of volume and fast catching up in quality as well. The Chinese Solar Market is also growing rapidly as the Chinese government awards subsidies for setting up pilot plants in different provinces. However a lack of national feed in tariff like Germany is hindering the growth.
