Apple has been the Leader in Technology Wars
Technology has become a very competitive sector with 5-10 Global Companies taking on each other on multiple fronts in Hardware and Software.Apple has been at the forefront of these Technology battles releasing an awesome array of Electronic Products changing the very dynamics of those segments.iPhone has radically changed the $100 Billion Market while iPad is well on its way to create a new Technology segment of Tablets .Apple has been known to combine Hardware and Software in a way that Delights the end consumer and generates the “Wow” factor with it Form Factor and Ease of Use.
Apple may be taking the Technology Fight to the next Level
British company ARM has been the far out leader in the mobile processing hardware space. Its processors are ubiquitous in the smartphone segment and have been also been used by Apple’s iPad as well.Intel has never has much success with most of its entries into the smartphones and mobile devices coming a cropper. It has found some success with its “Atom” line of processors for Netbooks but still trails ARM in smartphones.Apple taking over ARM would be a huge boost for the smaller company. It has had great products in computer processing and Apple’s backing may lead to greater heights for this company.Conversely it will drive away Apples competitors like Samsung,HTC,Motorola and others into the arms of Intel. However it will be a huge gain for Apple as it integrate its hardware and software into even a tighter and more competitive platform. It also derives its competitors with a great source of processors for their devices.Note this is still in the rumor stage but with Apple’s $40 Billion Cash Hoard it is quite Doable. It would be a Bold Step as well one which Apple has never been afraid of doing.
